Foundations of choice in marriage, an Islamic social study

Abstract

It is an established fact that the family is the basic living cell that makes up the body of human society. If it is sound, the whole society is sound, and if it is corrupt, the whole society is corrupt. Rather, it is the small nation from which humanity learns its best social morals. There is no nation where there is no family, and there is no humanity where there is no family. The family derives its importance and high status from the fact that it is the first social environment that receives a person from his birth and continues with him throughout his life, witnessing his transition from one stage to another. Indeed, there is no other social system that determines the fate of the whole human species as the family determines it. This can only be achieved if the choice of marriage is based on correct Islamic standards, for with them the foundation of the family structure is strengthened and rises high and lofty, and without them it cracks and falls, no matter how high and lofty it is. Therefore, choosing a life partner is one of the most important decisions that a person makes in his life, as it represents a commitment to responsibility.
